PESHAWAR: A man died while two children received injuries in Gharibabad area of Badhaber, Peshawar, on Saturday when a grenade he was carrying exploded.
Police identified the man as Alam Khan, a resident of Sheikh Muhammadi village. A pistol was also found on him.
“He was around 35 years old and lived in a rented house,” a police officer said. “No one has arrived at the police station to claim his body,” he added.
The officer suspected that Khan could have been a terrorist because he was carrying a grenade and a pistol; or probably he had enemies.
The policeman said that an investigation was underway. The injured children were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
A day earlier, a minor and her mother died in Upper Dir when the children, who had found a live grenade and brought it home thinking it was toy, pulled its pin. Five others were injured in the ensuing explosion.
